​Matthew O’Grady is a barrister practising in Family Law, with a focus on complex financial and property disputes following separation.

 

He is briefed in matters involving substantial asset pools, trusts, companies, third-party interests, equitable claims and jurisdictional issues, and appears in contested interlocutory and final hearing work across Australia.

 

He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2010 and to the Victorian Bar in 2021. His practice is recognised in Doyles Guide in Victoria and nationally, and in the English legal directories.

 

Matthew has significant decision-making experience. He sits part-time as a judge of the Family Court of England and Wales. He also accepts appointments as Arbitrator and Mediator, and has a distinctive background in elite professional sport which informs related disciplinary, safeguarding and regulatory work.
